Chinese Premier Li Qiang on October 15, 2025 urged efforts to accelerate the reform and innovation in standardization work, aiming to promote the quality upgrading in the real economy and strengthen the endogenous momentum for high-quality development. Li made the remarks while presiding over the 16th State Council study session.

习近平总书记强调，标准决定质量，有什么样的标准就有什么样的质量，只有高标准才有高质量。

作为衡量产品质量的尺度，标准是经济生活和社会发展的技术支撑。从中国古代的“车同轨、书同文”，到现代工业规模化生产，标准渗透在人们衣食住行的方方面面。当前，标准在赋能产品与服务品质升级，满足多元消费需求方面的规范引领作用充分显现。

标准是重要基础性制度，对构建现代化产业体系、建设全国统一大市场等具有重要作用。高标准能够有力地推动技术创新、高水平对外开放、高质量发展。近年来，我国标准化工作取得很大进步，标准覆盖范围加快拓展、水平持续提升。

每年10月14日是世界标准日。2025年10月14日是第56个世界标准日，主题为“美好世界的共同愿景：增强伙伴关系，共促可持续发展”。

构建全国统一大市场，深化要素市场化改革，建设高标准市场体系。完善产权保护、市场准入、公平竞争、社会信用等市场经济基础制度，优化营商环境。

We will build a unified national market, advance reforms for the market-based allocation of production factors, and put in place a high-standard market system. We will refine the systems underpinning the market economy, such as those for property rights protection, market access, fair competition, and social credit, in order to improve the business environment.
